摘要: Abstract Objective To compare the therapeutic outcomes after deep lamellar keratoplasty (DLK) and penetrating (PK) in patients with keratoconus. Design Retrospective case–control study. Participants We reviewed clinical notes of 47 diagnosed clinically keratoconus who had received DLK (26 eyes 25 patients) or PK (25 22 at Moorfields Eye Hospital Royal Shrewsbury between 1994 2001. The 2 groups were matched for severity their by preoperative visual acuity. Methods Deep was performed Melles technique 7 described Sugita Kondo 19 eyes. Penetrating a standard using Hessburg-Barron trephine. A single continuous 16-bite 10-0 nylon suture placed adjusted both groups. Main outcome measures Best-corrected acuity (BCVA), refractive results, surgical techniques DLK, complication rates analyzed. Results underwent mean age 32.6 years median follow-up 28 months. 34 years. Conclusions is no longer an automatic choice treatment keratoconus; seems to be safe alternative. acuity, are PK. technically challenging but allows risk endothelial rejection avoided may reduce late failure.
