摘要: Online Material: Table of station coordinates; preliminary seismicity catalog. From Afar to the Malawi–Mozambique border, East African Rift System (EARS; Fig. 1) is well described on basis geological and geophysical evidence (Ebinger et al. , 1987; Ring 1992; Simiyu Keller, 1997; Chorowicz, 2005; Roberts 2012), (Nyblade Langston, 1995; Yang Chen, 2008, 2010; Kim 2009; Delvaux Barth, 2010), Global Positioning (GPS) data (Fernandes 2004, 2013; Calais 2006; Stamps 2008; Saria 2013). However, its extent south Malawi rift unclear. Various trajectories have been proposed: a split near Lake Tanganyika continuing southwest through Okavango delta in Botswana (Scholz 1975); offshore Mozambique Channel (Mougenot 1986); Urema Central Hartnady, 1990; Steinbruch, 2010); distributed between Davie Ridge (Grimison 1988). The M w 7 Machaze earthquake (Fenton Bommer, Raucoules Copley 2012) highlighted importance sector EARS. Figure 1.
