Strategy based PSO for Dynamic Control of UPFC to Enhance Power System Security

摘要: Penetration and installation of a new dynamic technology known as Flexible AC Transmission Systems (FACTS) in practical network requires force expert engineer to develop robust flexible strategy for planning control. Unified Power Flow Controller (UPFC) is one the recent effective FACTS devices designed multi control operation enhance power system security. This paper presents based on Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) optimal parameters setting UPFC loadability. Firstly, we perform flow analysis with load incrementation construct global database determine initial efficient bounds associated active reactive target vector. Secondly PSO technique applied search within bounds. The proposed approach implemented Matlab program verified IEEE 30-Bus test network. results show that can converge near optimum solution accuracy, confirm multi-control this device coordinated location security by eliminating overloaded lines bus voltage violation.
