Alterations in adipocyte free fatty acid re-esterification associated with obesity and weight reduction in man.

摘要: Using a newly developed in vitro technique, the rate of re-esterification lipolyzed free fatty acids (FFA) small fragments human subcutaneous adipose tissue was measured. When related to simultaneous glycerol release, this measure permits calculation molar ratios and FFA leaving adipocyte. In weight-stable, never-obese control subjects ratio FFA:glycerol adipocytes is 1.4:1. During fasting, climbs 2.7:1, close theoretical maximum 3.0:1. Adipocytes from weight-stable obese do not differ significantly regard ratio. However, reduced-obese (RO) display higher than either or subjects. The presence fasting-like physiology RO particular interest since these same individuals have other systemic metabolic subjective findings compatible with caloric deprivation.
