摘要: The existence of allometric relationships between home-range size and body mass was tested for 34 Italian mammals 106 birds. These allometries were investigated in relation to a carnivorous, omnivorous or herbivorous diet and, the case birds, also territoriality. Initially, non-phylogenetic comparative analyses undertaken by fitting general linear models data on average obtained from literature. Then, two phylogenetic trees studied species birds reconstructed independent contrasts applied order determine influence phylogeny these relationships. For mammals, type proved be determining factor defining relationship mass. Significant found with both conventional all trophic groups. results emphasized importance spatial distribution resources understanding allometries. analysis showed significant mass, pointed territorial systems After controlling phylogeny, only those which information their feeding territory available. Regardless complexity factors influencing species, outcomes this study support notion an allometry among suggesting that further developments area investigation may prove worthwhile.
