摘要: The effect of supplementing 200 mg/kg body weight palm vitamin E (PVE) and α-tocopherol (α-loc) on the healing wounds in streptozotocin-induced diabetic rats was evaluated. antioxidant potencies these two preparations were also evaluated by determining enzyme activities, namely, glutathione peroxidase (GPx) superoxide dismutase (SOD), malondialdehyde (MDA) levels dermal wounds. Healing measuring wound contractions protein contents Cellular redistribution collagen deposition assessed morphologically using cross-sections paraffin-embedded day-10 stained according to Van Gieson method. GPx SOD activities as well MDA determined homogenates Results showed that PVE had a greater potency enhance repair induce increase free radical-scavenging than α-Toc. Both α-Toc, however, potent antioxidants significantly reduced lipid peroxidation measured reduction levels.
