摘要: Modeling of flooding events resulting from bank overflooding and levee breaching is relevant social environmental interest. Two-dimensional (2D) hydrodynamic models integrating the shallow water equations turn out to be very effective tools for purpose at hand. Many available also use 1D channel elements, fully coupled 2D model, simulate flow small channels dissecting urban rural areas, referred as 1D-links, efficiently model over levees, road rail embankments, bunds, through control gates, either free or submerged, operation other hydraulic structures. In this work we propose a physically-based 1D-link breach formation evolution in fluvial failure due piping overtopping. The proposed then embedded 1D–2D thus accounting critical feedbacks between changes field. includes possibility simulating closure, an important feature particularly view risk assessment management emergency. applied five different case studies results numerical simulations compare favorably with field observations displaying good agreement terms flooded levels within channel, final widths, volumes flowed breach.
