摘要: A non-Doppler method for determining the horizontal speeds of point targets crossing a circular radar beam is presented. It requires knowledge only range, relative signal intensity variation with time, and beamwidth radar. With high-range resolution FM-CW errors in speed range from few per cent to about ±20% depending on time signals. low-resolution pulsed may be larger at short ranges but decrease rapidly range. Speeds were measured vertical 2-meter resolution. Dot angels, assumed insects, observed 10-cm cross sections 10−5 10−3 cm2 have 0.9 5.0 m sec−1. The also permits accurate determination target velocities derivative their height.
