摘要: Throughout the lifetime of an individual, hematopoietic stem cells (HSCs) maintain homeostasis normal hematopoiesis through precise generation mature blood cells. Numerous genetic studies in mice have shown that stem-cell quiescence is critical for sustaining primitive long-term HSCs vivo. In this review, we first examine crucial roles transforming growth factor β (TGF-β) and related signaling molecules not only regulating well-known cytostatic effects these but also governing self-renewal capacity their vivo microenvironmental niche. Second, discuss current evidence indicating TGF-β has a dual function disorders system. particular, paradox that, although intrinsic essential survival resistance to therapy chronic myelogenous leukemia (CML) cells, changes abrogate can lead development several hematological malignancies.
