摘要: Landscape modellers are now capable of combining high resolution spatial data with process models to explore natural resource management scenarios at scales appropriate for decision making, but what the making itself? In this chapter we review applicability ‘adaptive management’ paradigm management, using regional native vegetation by Catchment Management Authorities as an example. We find that progress has been made in approach defining objectives and specifying assumptions behind change models; however, there remain significant challenges instituting true experiments identifying performance indicators support continuous learning. argue ecological institutional complexity reinforces importance systematic protocols. Adaptive is most logical where uncertainty about effectiveness options, opportunity exists learn update understanding. This iterative offers improvements investment efficiency management.
