摘要: Abstract Adaptive Management (AM) is widely considered to be the best available approach for managing biological systems in presence of uncertainty. But AM has arguably only rarely succeeded improving biodiversity outcomes. There therefore an urgent need reflection regarding how practitioners might overcome key problems hindering greater implementation AM. In this paper, we present first structured review literature that relates and ecosystem management, with aim quantifying rare projects actually are. We also investigated whether terrestrial aquatic described same problems; degree consistency term ‘adaptive management’ was applied; extent which were sustained over time; articles describing more highly cited than comparable non-AM articles. found despite large number identified through ISI web knowledge (n = 1336), 61 (
