摘要: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the protective effect Pistacia lentiscus oil (PLO), known for its antioxidant properties, on chlorpyrifos (CPF)-induced alterations in thyroid, reproductive hormone levels, and oxidative damage ovaries thyroid adult Wistar rats. animals were treated with orally administered PLO (2 mL/kg), CPF (6.75 mg/kg), a combination 30 days. Serum levels luteinizing (LH), follicle-stimulating (FSH), progesterone (Pg), estradiol (E2), triiodothyronine (T3), thyroxine (T4), thyroid-stimulating (TSH) assessed using chemiluminescence assay. Malondialdehyde (MDA), protein carbonyl (PC), reduced glutathione (GSH) examined glands. principal volatile compounds detected by gas chromatography analysis were: myrcene, α-pinene limonene (26.21, 22.66 10.33%, respectively). No significant differences observed between serum concentrations TSH FSH experimental groups. However, LH, E2, Pg, T3, T4 decreased significantly CPF-treated rats comparison controls. body weight relative thyroids group also reduced. MDA PC content increased significantly, while GSH markedly depressed CPF. Co-administration effectively ameliorated adverse effects; hormones restored normal range. In conclusion, it appears that substantially alleviates CPF-induced hormonal alterations.
