摘要: Anaerobic alkane degradation via methanogenesis has been intensively studied under mesophilic and thermophilic conditions. While there is a paucity of information on the ability composition anaerobic alkane-degrading microbial communities low temperature In this study, we investigated consortium Y15, enriched from Shengli oilfield, to degrade hydrocarbons different conditions (5–35 °C). The could use hexadecane over range (15–30 No growth was detected below 10 °C above 35 °C, indicating presence cold-tolerant species capable degradation. preferential short chain n-alkanes crude oil observed by consortium. structure dynamics were examined using terminal restriction fragment length polymorphism (T-RFLP) fingerprinting Sanger sequencing 16S rRNA genes. core archaeal mainly composed aceticlastic Methanosaeta spp. Syntrophaceae-related microorganisms always during consecutive transfers dominated bacterial communities, sharing 94–96 % sequence similarity with Smithella propionica strain LYPT. Phylogenetic analysis clones in diverse methanogenic cultures revealed that most them clustered into three sublineages. Syntrophaceae retrieved study sublineage I, which may represent psychrotolerant, syntrophic degraders. These results indicate wide geographic distribution ecological function
