摘要: In 1990 a satellite session of the American College Neuropsychopharmacology (ACNP) Annual Meeting was held that focused on question whether progressive changes in brain structure occur schizophrenia and this raised considerable controversy. Eighteen years later, December 12, 2008, after much data have since accumulated topic, group approximately 45 researchers gathered annual ACNP meeting to participate similar workshop several unresolved questions still remaining: (1) How strong consistent is evidence? (2) Is there anatomic specificity it disease specific or subject specific? (3) What time course? (4) underlying pathophysiology (i.e. central process due neuroleptic treatment other epiphenomena? (5) its clinical significance? (6) Are implications? The day chaired by Lynn E. DeLisi co-chaired Stephen J. Wood. Christos Pantelis Jeffrey A. Lieberman extensively helped with planning. assisted organization as an official pharmaceutical companies provided support unrestricted educational grants. following summary sessions recounted rapporteurs whose job record closely possible outcome discussions above outlined questions.
