摘要: Background: The performance of the BD Vacutainer® PST™ II Tube for testing special chemistry analytes was evaluated in comparison to serum and heparin plasma non-gel blood collection tubes. tubes included Serum Plus Tube, Lithium Heparin Glass Tube. Methods: Tubes were drawn by routine venipuncture from 42 subjects according a randomized draw order. processed centrifuged recommended handling procedures. aliquoted secondary containers prior analysis. Specimens then tested selected at two time intervals (initial after 24 h storage). Analytes thyroid stimulating hormone, free thyroxine, total follicle luteinizing ferritin, cortisol, vitamin B12, folate, testosterone. data collected analyzed analysis variance mean bias comparisons. Results: considered be clinically equivalent all three assays. Test results aliquots those initial Conclusions: provided good storage stability assays without need aliquot.
