摘要: We report the case of a 50-year-old woman in whom laboratory work-up for suspected L-arginine deficiency and concomitant determination elevated symmetrical dimethylarginine (SDMA) led to diagnosis chronic kidney disease. This had been missed due '';normal'' serum creatinine. illustrates that patients physicians, while perusing non-evidence-based treatment strategies, such as supplementation, fail recognize importance evidence-based medicine, renal function testing. It also supports notion routine estimation glomerular filtration rate should be mandatory every patient creatinine test is ordered.
