摘要: Abstract We present a combined 57 Fe Mossbauer/X-ray diffraction (Rietveld analysis) study carried out on an In 16 8 S 32 spinel before and after chemical lithium insertion. To accommodate the new inserted cations in structure, two mechanisms are observed. First, for low content, cation migration takes place from usually occupied d sites toward unoccupied b c sites, with distortion of sulfur coordination polyhedra. Second, high when both octahedral occupied, decrease polyhedra is During insertion process, no clear reduction atoms observed but there increase covalent character Fe–S bonds.
