摘要: Mechanical ventilation of the newborn infant has increased neonatal survival. However, this survival come at expense morbidity, in form bronchopulmonary dysplasia, and cost an expensive technology. Continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) is accepted as conferring clinical benefit supporting recently extubated preterm management apnea prematurity. Attention now being drawn to physiologic evidence support CPAP use, with or without early surfactant, a primary treatment hyaline membrane disease. The purpose review explore these proposed benefits non invasive place them context current evidence.
