摘要: Experimental use of statins as stimulators bone formation suggests they may have widespread applicability in the field orthopaedics. With their combined effects on osteoblasts and osteoclasts, potential to enhance resorption synthetic materials improve ingrowth. In this study, effect oral local administration simvastatin a beta tricalcium phosphate (betaTCP)-filled defect around an implant was compared with recombinant human morphogenetic protein 2 (rhBMP2). On hundred sixty-two Sprague-Dawley rats were assigned treatment groups: application 0.1, 0.9 or 1.7 mg simvastatin, at 5, 10 50 kg(-1) day(-1) for 20 days, delivery 1 microg rhBMP2, control. At 6 weeks rhBMP2 increased serum tartrate-resistant acid phosphatase 5b levels reduced betaTCP area fraction, particle size number control, suggesting osteoclast activity. There stiffness mechanical strength treatment. Local resulted decreased mineral apposition rate fibrous 26 weeks. Oral had no improved whereas detrimental healing. ineffective promoting either ceramic formation. The repair defects graft substitute is influenced by its bioavailability. Thus, further studies optimal system are needed.
