摘要: Beauvericin (BEA) is a mycotoxin produced by many species of fungus Fusarium and Beauveria bassiana; BEA natural contaminant cereals based products possesses wide variety biological properties. The mechanism action seems to be related its ionophoric activity, that increases ion permeability in membranes. As consequence, causes cytotoxicity several cell lines capable produce oxidative stress at molecular level. Moreover, genotoxic (produces DNA fragmentation, chromosomal aberrations micronucleus) apoptosis with the involvement mitochondrial pathway. However, antioxidant mechanisms protect cells against BEA. Despite strong cytotoxicity, no risk assessment have been still carried out authorities due lack toxicity data, so research on toxicological impact going on. This review reports information available regarding mechanistic toxicology aim updating last researches this mycotoxin.
