Investigating cyberloafing, organisational justice, work engagement and organisational trust of South African retail and manufacturing employees

摘要: Orientation:  Understanding cyberloafing, organisational justice, work engagement and trust will lead organisations to develop strategies counter the consequences of cyberloafing. Research purpose:  This research explored relationships between among South African office workers in retail manufacturing industry. Motivation for study:  Cyberloafing, a prevalent way employees engage non-work-related activities during time, is considered harmful organisations. Limited exists about relationship cyberloafing within Africa. design, approach method:  A quantitative design was followed. Questionnaires were administered industry; convenient sample of  N  = 224 obtained. Descriptive statistics, Cronbach’s alpha coefficients, structural equation modelling bootstrapping used data analysis. Main findings:  Organisational justice positively related while engagement; negatively Organisational mediated Practical managerial implications:  Strategies can be developed enhance warrant perceptions fairness that increase levels, leading higher decreased behaviour resulting productivity. Contribution or value-add:  The revealed when perceive their as being fair, increase, heightened levels ultimately reducing behaviour.
