摘要: Three groups of populations at high risk human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection, i.e., injecting drug users (IDUs), truckers, and attendees sexually transmitted disease (STD) clinic Amritsar (Punjab), Northern India, were studied in order to determine the prevalence HIV, hepatitis B (HBV), C (HCV) infections. Of 157 IDUs, 16.6, 17.8, 33.7% found be positive for HBV, HCV infections, respectively. showed significant difference (P<0.01) very rate (8.3%) co-infection with HIV. In maximum seropositivity was associated HIV (19%), significantly higher than that HBV (6%, P<0.01) (3%, P<0.01). STD attendees, highest seroprevalence (4.3%), followed closely by (3.7%), (2.6%). The present study emphasizes need early screening infections all those also results highlight importance relevant targeted interventions these populations.
