摘要: The possibility that retroviruses play a role in multiple sclerosis (MS) has long been considered; accumulating findings suggest this to be most likely the form of human endogenous (HERVs). A genetic test series fifty retroviral loci for association with MS Danes showed SNP markers near specific locus, HERV-Fc1 located on X-chromosome, positive. Bout Onset was associated while rarer form, Primary Progressive MS, not. Moreover, Gag RNA plasma increased 4-fold patients recent history attacks, relative stable state and healthy controls. Finally, variations restriction genes influence risk providing further support elements disease. We speculate may activate innate immune system variety ways, involving host proteins, TRIMs, TLRs, TREXs STING. Observations HIV-positive antiretroviral drugs can curb MS. Thus, these new regarding etiology pathogenesis alternative ways challenge autoimmune diseases.
