摘要: The world’s increasing complexity, competitiveness, interconnectivity, and dependence on technology generate new challenges for nations individuals that cannot be met by continuing education as usual. With the proliferation of complex systems have come technologies communication, collaboration, conceptualisation. These led to significant changes in forms mathematical scientific thinking required beyond classroom. Modelling, its various forms, can develop broaden students’ standard curriculum. This chapter first considers future competencies sciences within an increasingly world. Consideration is then given interdisciplinary problem solving models modelling, one means addressing these competencies. Illustrative case studies involving complex, modelling activities Years 1 7 are presented.
