摘要: Background: The aim of this study was to estimate the incidence and describe epidemiological characteristics Kawasaki disease among children in Korea. Methods: Questionnaires for surveying epidemiology were distributed a total 101 hospitals that conduct pediatric residency programs. Then, we retrospectively obtained data, which covered three-year period (2006–2008) analyzed them. Results: During period, 9039 cases reported from 84 (response rate, 83.2%), comprising 5375 boys 3664 girls (male : female ratio, 1.47:1). outbreak rate per 100 000 <5 years old 108.7 2006, 118.3 2007 112.5 2008 (average 113.1). seasonal distribution showed slightly higher winter summer. patients’ mean age onset 32.6 months, while proportions sibling recurrent 0.17% 2.2%, respectively. Coronary arterial abnormalities detected during follow up by echocardiogram 17.5% all including dilatations (16.4%) aneurysms (2.1%). Conclusions: average annual Korea has been continuously increasing, reached 113.1/100 000 old, is second highest world.
