摘要: After long-term in vitro cultivation human erythrocytes, variants of three strains the malaria parasite Plasmodium falciparum no longer produce “knob” alterations on host erythrocyte surface. The time continuous culture before knobs failed to appear ranged from 18 months for Gambian strain FCR-4 33 Vietnamese FCR-1. loss is correlated with inability concentrate trophozoites, schizonts, and segmenters these variant lines by use gelatin-containing media. This first report a change or its cell as consequence culture.
