摘要: Publisher Summary This chapter discusses the techniques to cultivate malarial parasite, Plasmodium falciparum . It also emphasizes on cultivation of erythrocytic stages species other than P.falciparum and in vitro development preerythrocytic sporogonic malaria parasites. The culture medium is Roswell Park Memorial Institute (RPMI)-1640, originally developed for human white blood cells supplemented with 4-(2-hydroxyethyl)-1-piperazineethanesulfonic acid (HEPES) buffer hypoxanthine. Human erythrocytes are host cell choice. In nature, P. fulciparum restricted humans. have a longer vivo lifetime those susceptible primates most places easier obtain quantity. cloning method. method permits isolation microscopic examination single infected parasite without use micromanipulator.
