摘要: Age-related macular degeneration (AMD) is the leading cause of visual loss among adults 65 years and older in western countries. Of patients with AMD who experience severe vision, approximately 90% do so because choroidal neovascularization (CNV). Visual most when CNV occurs directly under fovea. Radiation-treated show some stabilization acuity reduction extent compared to similar managed by observation alone. Various external beam radiation field arrangements were used deliver treatments. The stereotactic delivery technique employed this study allows precise target much less delivered nearby sensitive structures (i.e., lens, optic nerves, chiasm, contralateral eye). This aim paper describe our for treatment CNV, method we definition eye immobilization. We also compare other techniques reported literature regard dose distributions, dose-volume histograms, normal tissue complication probabilities (NTCP). found that position can be reproduced from one fraction next, localized accurately, radiotherapy minimizes adjacent surrounding while providing a homogeneous area.
