摘要: Background: The naked mole rats (NMRs) are small-sized underground rodents with plenty of unusual traits. Their life expectancy can be up to thirty years, more than seven times longer laboratory rat. Furthermore, they resistant both congenital and experimentally induced cancer genesis. These peculiar physiological pathological characteristics allow them become a suitable model for aging research. Results: In this paper, we carried out genome-wide comparative analysis rat NMR using the recently published genome sequence NMR. First, identified all rat-NMR orthologous genes specific within each them. expanded contracted numbers protein families in were also analyzed when compared Seven cancer-related appeared significantly expanded, whereas several receptor found We then chose those that inexistent adopted KEGG pathway database investigate metabolic processes which their proteins may involved. enriched two pathways, “Pathway cancer” “Bladder cancer”. cancer”, 9 14 paths leading evading apoptosis affected addition, significant number other NMR-missing pathways have been known related variety cancers, implying many tumorigenesis mammals. Finally, investigation variations among between revealed fragment insertions/deletions important functional domains present some proteins, might lead expressional and/or changes these different species. Conclusions: Overall, study provides insights into understanding possible anti-cancer mechanisms as well searching new candidate genes.
