摘要: Objective: To evaluate the regional cerebral metabolic involvement; relationships among brain metabolism, clinical features, and quantitative measures of disease severity; patterns involvement that can be related to different types onset: striatonigral degeneration vs olivopontocerebellar atrophy. Design: Fludeoxyglucose F 18 positron emission tomography (PET) studies performed in patients with multiple system atrophy (MSA) were evaluated for their features at onset time PET study. Cases: Seventeen diagnosed as having probable MSA 10 age-matched controls. Results: The hypometabolism putamenpallidum complex cerebellum was best discriminant classification. efficacy levodopa treatment positively correlated activity putamen-pallidum complex. type (N=8) had a prevalent cerebellum, while (N=9) impairment pallidum-putamen We demonstrated negative correlation between (1) severity parkinsonism values putamen caudate; (2) cerebellar signs metabolism cerebellum; (3) autonomic dysfunction thalamus, frontal, temporal regions, bilaterally. Conclusions: These findings support selective reduction marker MSA. clinical/metabolic correlations, demonstrating expected dependence extrapyramidal by basal ganglia also possible central nervous structures control.
