Its purpose to provide simple concise method for expressing the ambient Oregon's streams general recreational use, including fishing swimming. OWQI, originally developed in 1970s, has been updated based upon improved understanding about behavior. This report describes historical basis OWQI defines design present OWQI. index allows users easily interpret data relate overall variation variations specific categories impairment. demonstrates value presenting spatial temporal information. improves comprehension issues, communicates status, illustrates need effectiveness protective practices.
