Treatment of varicose and telangiectatic leg veins: double-blind prospective comparative trial between aethoxyskerol and sotradecol.

摘要: background. One hundred twenty-nine patients were treated with either polidocanol (POL) or sodium tetradecyl sulfate (STS) to compare the efficacy and adverse sequelae of each agent. objective. To determine safety two sclerosing solutions. methods. Each patient's leg veins that did not have incompetence from saphenofemoral junction (SFJ) divided into three categories by size (<1 mm, 1–3 3–6 mm). was randomly 0.25%, 0.5%, 1.5% STS 1.0%, 3% POL respective size. An independent, three-panel, blindly randomized photographic examination obtained pretreatment at 4 16 weeks. Patient satisfaction index overall clinical improvement assessment also obtained. results. All had an average 70% 70–72% satisfied in all vein solution. There no significant difference effects between group except for a decrease ulcerations swelling group. conclusion. Both are safe effective solutions varicose telangiectatic veins.
