Electron impact dissociation cross sections in hydrogen and deuterium, leading to Balmer alpha and beta emission

摘要: Dissociation of H2 and D2 by electron impact, leading to the emission Balmer alpha beta radiation, has been studied for energies up 100 eV. Normalised excitation functions, their isotope ratio, polarisation are reported. Care was taken eliminate magnetic electric fields, allow molecular radiation near lines. Compared with previous reported work shape cross sections found is substantially same, while showing an additional threshold 43 eV, but ratios markedly different at low agreeing higher energies.
