摘要: The objective of this article is to analyze the domestic and international effects a hypothetical foot-and-mouth disease (FMD) outbreak in Mexican cattle industry. A discrete time dynamic optimization model sector specified, linked markets. Economic consequences FMD outbreaks are simulated over under different scenarios. Specific findings general policy recommendations provided. study reports range from localized large scale suggests that changes economic surplus due positive net gain $0.89 $1.6 billion loss about $67 billion, depending on specific mitigation strategy scenario.
