摘要: A liquid crystal light valve projection system is provided with increased optical overshoot, and thereby decreased response time, by employing a mixture (52) having molecules substantially perpendicularly aligned to the face of electrodes (42,70) axially twisted. The axial twist laying down alignment grooves (90,92,96,98) for that are oriented respect one another, on opposite layers, an angle between about 45° 90°. This mutually angled orientation opposed layers causes overshoot vary when entire cell (34) rotated relative output polarizer (18) axis perpendicular cell. rotation twisted allows faster rise time be achieved.
