摘要: Interindividual variation in drug response occurs canine patients just as it does human patients. Although pharmacogenetics still lags behind pharmacogenetics, significant life-saving discoveries the field have been made over last 20 years, but much remains to be done. This article summarizes available published data about presence and impact of genetic polymorphisms on transporters, drug-metabolizing enzymes, receptors/targets, plasma protein binding while comparing them their counterparts when applicable. In addition, precision medicine cancer treatment an application pertinent considerations for testing is reviewed. The poised transition from single pharmacogene-based studies, pharmacogenomic-based studies enhance our understanding interindividual dogs. Advances will not only improve health well-being dogs dog breeds, may provide insight into individual efficacy toxicity well.
