摘要: This paper attempts to disentangle the direct effects of experience from those culture in determining fertility. We use GSS examine fertility women born US but different ethnic backgrounds. take lagged values total rate woman's country ancestry as cultural proxy and number siblings capture her family experience. find that both variables are significant determinants fertility, even after controlling for several individual family-level characteristics.
