摘要: A simple processing route for manufacturing highly porous, silica-bonded SiC ceramics with spherical pores has been developed. The strategy adopted making porous entails the following steps: (i) fabricating a formed body through combination of and polymer microbeads (employed as sacrificial templates) (ii) sintering in air. particles are bonded to each other by oxidation-derived SiO2 glass. By controlling microbead content temperature, it was possible adjust porosity such that ranged from 19 77%. flexural compressive strengths ≈40% were ≈65 MPa ≈200 MPa, respectively. superior attributed homogeneous distribution small (≤30 μm), dense struts ceramics.
