摘要: Most commercial soybean varieties have yellow seeds due to loss of pigmentation in the seed coat. We previously showed that inhibition coat soybeans is controlled by post-transcriptional gene silencing (PTGS) chalcone synthase (CHS) genes. Soybean CHS genes are composed at least eight members, CHS1-CHS8. In this study, we compared steady state mRNA level each member between a cultivar displaying PTGS and its pigmented mutant which abrogated. Northern hybridization analysis suggested coat, transcripts CHS7 CHS8 were abundant among total transcripts, whereas those other members (CHS1-CHS6) less abundant. Reverse transcription subsequent real time PCRs using member-specific primers revealed reduction amount most non-pigmented as mutant, indicating influence on family.
