摘要: Background: Postprandial lipemia is known to reduce endothelium-dependent flow-mediated vasodilation (FMD). Because postprandial can be acutely mitigated when proteins are added the fatty meal, we investigated whether this mitigation could neutralize lipemia-induced endothelial dysfunction. Design: Sixteen healthy students (aged 19–23, eight males and females) received three different test meals at intervals of 1 week between successive tests. Each meal contained whipping cream alone or together with either caseinate soy protein. The 33% fat, 3 ml (= g fat) was given per kg body weight. were 50 sodium FMD assessed by two-dimensional ultrasonography brachial artery in fasting state 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 h after meal. Blood withdrawn same time-points from other arm. Triglycerides, free acids, insulin determined using routine methods, both l-arginine asymmetric dimethylarginine (ADMA) LC-MS. Results: reduced FMD, reduction reaching a maximum 58% h. This impairment function not observed had been (p < 0.01 for p 0.001 protein). effects protein addition decreases triglycerides increased concentrations all time-points, an arginine/ADMA ratio 5 particularly case Conclusion: We suggest that neutralization dysfunction caused direct indirect insulinotropy and, secondly, supply l-arginine. © 2005 Elsevier Ireland Ltd.
