摘要: The behaviour of thin-walled compression members is known to be significantly influenced by the effects local buckling. Thin-walled sections lose axial compressive stiffness and carrying capability can considerably reduced as a result Finite element simulation employed in this paper examine post-buckled response I-section box-section struts, giving due consideration influence geometric imperfections elasto-plastic material behaviour. A detailed account growth redistribution stresses after buckling well initiation yielding yield propagation throughout loading given paper. different in-plane displacement boundary conditions imposed simulations at section plate junctions also effect on failure sections. It shown that geometrical are most prominent for strut designs with near simultaneous ultimate unloading designs, general, synonymous development along full length struts through middle surface walls.
