摘要: Three finite-strip methods, (FSM) namely the semi-energy, full-energy semi-analytical and spline FSM, are developed for predicting geometrically non-linear response of box sections with simply supported ends when subjected to uniform end shortening in their plane. The FSMs then applied analyze post-local-buckling behavior some representative sections. Although, general, a very good agreement is observed exist among results obtained by all different it revealed that advanced stages post-buckling, semi-energy method predicts which slightly less accurate than those methods. This due fact higher level compressional stiffness experienced case approach as compared cases It however worth noting current analysis based on single term approach. Thus, expected accuracy will improve correspondingly number degrees freedom involved increase if more one utilized its formulation.
