摘要: AvrXa7 is a member of the avBs3/pthA gene family and only known type III secretion system effector from Xanthomonas oryzae pv. with major contribution to bacterial growth lesion formation in blight disease rice. We examined general requirement for effectors AvrBs3/PthA rice by identifying diverse strains pathogen. Inactivation single genes representative Japan, Korea, Philippines resulted severely limited plants. Five harbored one avrBs3/pthA family, while strain had two equivalent virulence activity avrXa7. Sequence analysis revealed three unique repeat arrangements comparison Comparison repetitive regions potential motif group that was also present region avrBs3. However, avrBs3 could not support but, combination C-terminal coding avrXa7, triggered Xa7-dependent avirulence reaction. The results members X. supported hypothesis highly dependent on class effectors. indicated avrXa7 specificity separable activity.
