摘要: ELUCIDATION of the genetic and molecular basis plant disease resistance is a major objective in investigation plant-micro-bial interactions. Xanthomonas campestris pathovar vesicatoria (Xcv), causal agent bacterial spot pepper tomato, has been developed as model host–pathogen system to study interactions that specify expression resistance1–6. Several genes (Bsl, Bs2, Bs3) have genetically characterized from (Capsicum annuum) determine particular races pathogen carrying specific avirulence genes7–9. For example, plants locus Bs3 are resistant Xcv strains expressing gene avrBs3. Nucleotide sequence analysis avrBs3 revealed internal portion predicted protein product consists nearly identical 34 amino acid repeat unit, present 17.5 copies4. We report here repetitive region determines race-specificity deletions units generate new specificities unmask undiscovered tomato.
