Despite a decrease in its incidence some regions world, gastric still poses major clinical challenge because most cases are diagnosed an advanced stage, with poor prognosis and limited treatment options. The common causes Helicobacter pylori infection (proven), Epstein-Barr virus (suspected), familial. Major predisposing factors include high salt intake, smoking, familial genetic component.
