摘要: In late 2013, chikungunya virus (CHIKV) was introduced to the New World and large outbreaks occurred in Caribbean islands causing over a million suspected 20,000 laboratory-confirmed cases. Serological analysis is an essential component for diagnosis of CHIKV infection together with isolation detection viral nucleic acid. Demonstrating neutralizing by serum antibodies plaque reduction neutralization test (PRNT) gold standard all serological diagnostic assays. Prior testing, heat inactivation at 56°C 30 min required complement activity adventitious viruses. The presence contaminating viruses may interfere results leading higher number plaques on monolayers subsequent false-negative results. This procedure widely accepted flaviviruses alphaviruses. this study, thermostability evaluated. Heat demonstrated be insufficient complete removal infectious virions present samples. thermotolerance could compromise accuracy tests, therefore longer treatment greater than 120 recommended.
