摘要: Gomphodont cynodonts were close relatives of mammals and one the Mesozoic lineages cynodont therapsids that became extinct at end Triassic. Gomphodonts omnivorous to herbivorous animals characterized by labiolingually expanded postcanines, which allowed tooth-to-tooth occlusion. The morphology upper lower postcanines presents important means distinguishing among major within Gomphodontia, is, Diademodontidae, Trirachodontidae, Traversodontidae, but dentition most Diademodontidae Trirachodontidae remain poorly documented. Here, we present a comprehensive description each diademodontid trirachodontid species, as well detailed illustrations dental unit, after firsthand examination material 3D reconstructions postcanine teeth. Based on morphology, Trirachodon berryi "Trirachodon kannemeyeri," considered separate taxa some authors are here interpreted representing different ontogenetic stages same species. Likewise, Sinognathus Beishanodon, thought belong non-cynognathian traversodontids authors, referred Gomphodontia based characters, respectively. Finally, propose standardized list terms abbreviations for incisors, canines, anatomical entities, with goal facilitating future descriptions communication between researchers studying gomphodont dentition.
