摘要: Prion diseases are considered to be transmissible. The existence of sporadic forms prion such as scrapie implies an environmental source for the infectious agent. This would suggest that under certain conditions protein, accepted agent transmission, can survive in environment. We have developed a novel technique extract protein from soil matrices. Previous studies suggested manganese is possible risk factor diseases. shown exposure matrix causes dramatic increase survival (∼10 fold) over two year period. also increases infectivity mouse passaged culture cells by 2 logs. These results clearly verify both environment and its transmissibility.
