摘要: Abstract In a world of increasing demand for natural resources, conservation actions are frequently postponed, even though this may impair biodiversity and the supply ecosystem services (ES). Here, we evaluated consequences delaying to protect ES in Brazilian Cerrado, most diverse tropical savanna world, which is threatened by rapid expansion agriculture. We generated land use maps present two future periods (2025 2050), using comprehensive model. Based on these maps, modeled provision six ES: water yield, sediment retention, nutrient carbon storage, net primary productivity wild food provision. identified priority areas safeguarding meet four targets (i.e. 10%, 20%, 30% 40% each ES). found that expected changes tended diminish over time modify their spatial distribution. Priority region also differ spatially between future. Moreover, will encompass more extensive altered environments than those day landscapes. Our study highlights importance avoiding delays actions, as exacerbate conflicts development. Arguments based could create new incentives simultaneously conserve both associated with them region.
