摘要: Abstract Background Trichophyton rubrum is the most common pathogen causing dermatophytosis worldwide. Recent genetic investigations showed that microorganism originated in Africa and then spread to Europe North America via Asia. Objects We investigated intraspecific diversity of T. isolated from two closely located Asian countries, Japan China. Methods A total 150 clinical isolates obtained Japanese Chinese patients were analyzed by randomly amplified polymorphic DNA (RAPD) sequence analysis non-transcribed spacer (NTS) region rRNA gene. Results RAPD divided strains into major clusters, B. Of isolates, 30% belonged cluster 70% B, whereas 91% A. The NTS gene was four groups (I–IV) based on sequencing. majority type IV (51%), III (75%). Conclusions These results suggest although China are neighboring origins these countries may not be identical. findings provide information useful for tracing global transmission routes rubrum.
